It’s that time of year here in Minnesota!

by Vicki

It’s that time of year here in Minnesota, it’s coming-the cold, deary and darkness.  Although it’s been a lovely fall, it’s easy for me to get into a funk unless I have projects lined up to keep my mind busy.  What better way to stay out of this funk is quick and easy projects, a headband turbin.  So let’s use that stash you’ve been holding onto forever!  Think out of the box, use a couple of strands of different yarns and create something new and wonderful.  So for this blog post I have linked to several quick and easy patterns to machine knit your headband.  I have knit these on my bulky machine and also my standard gauge.   I guarantee, no two will be alot.  And I forgot to say, they are Free!

Give them a try and enjoy that time stuck indoors.  I would love to see your finished creations.

Click on each photo and it will take you to the pattern information.

1. Headband with a Twist

This headband is knit back and forth in the English rib, which is very warm and comfortable to wear. It has a twist in the middle – not only this looks classy, but it’s also a clever way to hide the seam.

2.  This headband is knitted as a simple rectangle; the knot or twist is created with a special seaming technique. This is a good pattern to use up scraps of yarn. Instructions for standard, midgauge, and bulky machines are included, and there are many pictures showing the construction of the knot.

3.  This pattern describes the basic construction and assembly steps for the Twisted Ear Warmer. Yarn and gauge can be adjusted to the knitter’s preference.
